Pink And Grey Bedroom Walls
This post is quite photo heavy but I was so excited to finally share with you what our finished pink and grey bedroom looks like with a bit of a Bedroom Tour post. Its taken quite a while to get it done as I decided to wallpaper on one wall and wait till you see! Its worked a treat and I'm so pleased with it. I've literally just finished it all this weekend. The room was already white, like the rest of the house so a great starting base and I always like to have white bedding and add the colour in other ways, that way my bedding can go on any bed in any room. We bought a few new bits for the room, the biggest of which is the bed. We opted for a bed with storage underneath so it lifts up and the whole underneath has shoes and jumpers in. Its so handy and also the frame was the perfect colour grey and the headboard not too tall I find new build ceilings much lower than our old Victorian house. Its the Serenity Ottomam Bed from time4sleep and is really affordable, but bear in mind it comes flat packed so you do need to build it yourself.
I'm going to list everything in the room at the bottom of the post, just in case I miss anything.
The prints are from Etsy. They were digital downloads and I had them printed out at a print shop and framed in IKEA frames. Our bedside table were a bit tatty and the doors didn't shut properly after I did a bit of a bad paint job on them, so I sanded them right back and painted them again in Annie Sloan chalk paint in Paris Grey. I also lined the inside with the same wallpaper thats on the feature wall. Inside the drawers and in the cupboard too. I used the dark grey wallpaper that I had a sample of inside the other one.
Our bedding I have for a while from Next and the cushions are also from the old house but used to be in the spare room which was pink and grey too. The dark grey throw though is brand new. Its from Eve sleep who you might know from mattresses but they do a small range of home textiles now too and this chunky throw is perfect for on the end of the bed.
I'd known for a while that I wanted to do a feature wall in wallpaper. I painted the en suite a while back and I had seen a photo on instagram of a hotel with an amazing patterned wallpaper on the wall where the door to bathroom was. I screenshot it and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I knew I wanted pink wallpaper with a bold design and it took me ages to find the right one. Eventually I stumbled upon this Boutique wallpaper at B&Q ( I can't find it online). It was a lovely thick wallpaper and the perfect pink and so this weekend I went ahead and papered the wall and I love it! I love the view through into the en suite too where you can see the grey.
In the corner I have an IKEA Micke desk which I bought on eBay and use as my dressing table with a freestanding mirror rested on top. The top drawer is perfect for my makeup and I use my old Glossybox boxes to keep everything organised. Inside the cupboard is all my hair stuff like my hairdryer, straighteners and products. The stool was a DIY which you can read here.
Our wardrobes are the IKEA PAX and we had them at the old house along with the thin Malm unit on the end. I keep my jewellery in the top 3 drawers. The top lifts up with a mirror inside and here I keep all my delicate Z Collection jewellery. On top of the MALM chest of drawers we have a box each which has all our perfumes and aftershaves in with a few select ones on top.
Even though the bedroom is a little smaller than what we had before we do have the added benefit of an en suite. I tend to use this bathroom the most and so I opted for white subway tiles with the grey grout so when I use bright pink toner I don't have to worry about any stained grout issues. We also found this lovely marble effect vinyl flooring which was really affordable and I love because it hides all manner of marks etc with its pattern. For the wall, much like the downstairs bathroom I decided to paint a grey feature wall. I actually used the same paint but with white mixed in as I didn't want it as dark.
On the wall I have my towel rack and striped towels from IKEA which add that pink into the bathroom as well as a flash of teal. I love these towels and have the bath size too. The pictures are of my two doggies Eddie and Gus which I made black & white and added a pink background and framed them in simple grey Wilko frames.
